The U.S. Postal Service has filed notice of new mailing services prices set to take effect July 13, 2025. The price changes, which await review by the Postal Regulatory Commission, include a 5-cent increase for First-Class Mail Forever stamps, from 73 cents to 78 cents.
Overall, mailing services prices will increase by over 7 percent. Key changes include:
- Letters (1 ounce): 78 cents (up from 73 cents)
- Metered letters (1 ounce): 74 cents (up from 69 cents)
- Domestic postcards: 62 cents (up from 56 cents)
- International postcards and letters: $1.70 (up from $1.65)
The Postal Service will also reduce postal insurance prices by 12 percent when mailing items.
These adjustments are part of the “Delivering for America” 10-year plan aimed at achieving financial stability. The Postal Service notes that despite these increases, their prices remain among the most affordable worldwide.
The Postal Service, which receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, relies on the sale of postage and other services to fund its operations.
