After nearly four decades at Monmouth Mall, the Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN) is moving to a new home. The nonprofit organization, which serves seniors in Monmouth and Ocean counties, will relocate to the Church of the Precious Blood Parish Center at 72 Riverdale Avenue in Monmouth Beach by September 2025.
The move comes after developers notified SCAN it must vacate its mall location by year’s end. “We’re thrilled to bring our vibrant community of older adults and enriching programs to Monmouth Beach,” said Executive Director Mike Ciavolino.
SCAN offers over 40 programs including arts, languages, technology, fitness, and social activities. Annual membership costs just $25 for adults 55 and older, with Monmouth Beach residents receiving free first-year membership. The organization will operate Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while maintaining select classes at Monmouth Square’s Boscov’s location for continued accessibility.
